The Building Safety & Inspection Department reviews construction plans for residential and business projects. It issues permits for approved plans and follows up with periodic inspections to ensure that work meets various building codes. The department’s work focuses on seeing that structures are as safe as they can be.

BUILDING CODES CURRENTLY IN EFFECT
2013 California Building Codes and Standards
The plan submittal requirement for the new 2013 California Building Codes and Standards will be based on the date of application and day the plan check deposit is receipted by the City. Any application that is submitted on or after January 1, 2014, will be reviewed under the 2013 California Building Codes and Standards. Any plan subject to the new building codes and standards including tract production homes submitted in an “applied” status with a deposit-based fee paid prior to January 1, 2014, will still be reviewed and subsequently inspected in accordance with the new building plans for production homes on a tract on or after January 1, 2014, they must be designed under the 2013 California Building Codes and Standards.
California Building Standards Commission adopted and approved the 2013 California Building Standards Code, California Code of Regulations, and Title 24. They have been published and are available with an effective date of January 1, 2014.
Except as hereinafter changed or modified, the 2013 California Building Code, along with Appendices C,G,H, I and K of that certain building code, as published by the California Building Standards Commission, are hereby adopted by reference and incorporated into Title 8 of the Wildomar Municipal Code
